Bangladeshi Man Arrested in Kuwait Within 24 Hours Over Security Guard’s Murder

A Bangladeshi national has been arrested in Kuwait over the alleged murder of a security guard at an unfinished building in the Al Mutla area. Police reportedly detained the suspect within 24 hours of discovering the victim’s body.

The body of the security guard was found on the rooftop of the under-construction building on Friday morning, October 30. Following the discovery, Kuwait’s Criminal Investigation Department launched an investigation and began collecting evidence from the scene.

According to Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior, the suspected motive was a dispute over employment.

Investigators said the arrested Bangladeshi man had previously worked as a security guard at the same building but was dismissed one day before the victim’s body was discovered. Another worker was subsequently appointed to replace him.

Police believe that the suspect’s dismissal and a subsequent dispute with the newly appointed guard may have led to the killing.

During the investigation, authorities reportedly discovered that the suspect had already surrendered at a police station in Sharq. His residency permit had expired, and an arrest warrant had previously been issued against him.

According to investigators, he had surrendered with the intention of being deported to Bangladesh before his alleged involvement in the murder came to light.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior said the suspect confessed during questioning. Police claimed that he admitted attacking the replacement security guard with a wooden object and a knife following their dispute.

Local media outlet Arab Times identified the victim as a Yemeni national, although Kuwaiti authorities have not yet released his full identity.

Bangladeshi media reports have identified the arrested man as Arman Hossain, reportedly from Munshiganj. However, the Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait has not officially confirmed his full identity and said it is working to collect further information about the incident.

According to reports published on Sunday, November 1, embassy officials learned about the incident through local media and are contacting the relevant Kuwaiti authorities for confirmation. Government offices in Kuwait were closed on Friday and Saturday, which reportedly delayed the collection of official information.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior said the suspect would be referred to the relevant judicial authorities for further legal proceedings.

Although police have reported that the suspect confessed during questioning, the allegations have not yet been established in court. The investigation and judicial process are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the killing.
