Our Editorial Mission

The Borderless Journal defends democracy in Bangladesh through public interest journalism. We publish news analysis, interviews, and opinion pieces to engender public debate, alongside crucial reportage that exposes human rights abuses and corruption.

We serve as a vital civic space and a champion of democratic ideals and fundamental freedoms in Bangladesh. We actively resist censorship and distribute multi-format content through ubiquitous mediums, adhering strictly to the highest journalistic standards and ethics. Public interest, fairness, and accuracy are the three principles that dictate what we observe and how we report—and it is to our readers that we remain entirely accountable.

Why “Borderless”?

“Borders exist to divide, but human dignity, rights, and the stories of the human entity recognize no boundaries.”

We chose the name The Borderless Journal because we believe that human rights and dignity are fundamentally borderless. Our journalism actively rejects artificial boundaries—not merely geographic or state borders, but the psychological and mental borders that divide communities.

We operate on the absolute truth that all humans are equal and no border can divide another. While our core focus is rooted in the struggles and triumphs of Bangladesh, our perspective is global. By breaking down mental borders and challenging institutional ones, we aim to be an ever-curious and ever-alert observer of power, reporting the news with radical empathy and clinical accuracy.

Funding & Editorial Independence

To maintain absolute integrity, The Borderless Journal does not receive, seek, or pursue funds administered by governments.

Because we accept no state or government funding, we do not share or accept any outside influence over our newsroom. This uncompromising firewall ensures that our journalists answer only to the truth and to the public interest, allowing us to cover Bangladeshi affairs safely, objectively, and without fear or favor.
