A 60-year-old bus owner was killed after being crushed under his own vehicle in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj district, Bangladesh, police said.
The victim, identified as Enayet Sheikh, was a resident of Ghonapara area in Kashiani. The accident occurred at around 7:30 pm on Sunday, October 25, near Majhigati bus stand.
According to local sources, a bus owned by Sheikh and operated by GMS Paribahan had arrived from Khulna and stopped at the bus stand. While it was braking, a bus operated by Narail Express reportedly struck it from behind.
Sheikh, who was standing near the door of his bus, was thrown onto the road by the impact and was subsequently crushed under his own vehicle, sustaining critical injuries.
Local residents rescued him and rushed him to Gopalganj Medical College Hospital, where the attending physician declared him dead.
Sergeant Nripen Das of Bhatiapara Highway Police Station confirmed the incident, adding that legal proceedings were underway.
