The first unit of Bangladesh’s Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant has successfully completed the B-2 phase of its physics testing, marking another step toward starting electricity generation.
The project is now awaiting approval from the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority (BAERA) before moving forward with power generation.
The successful test represents an important milestone for the country’s first nuclear power plant, which is expected to strengthen Bangladesh’s electricity supply once it becomes operational.
However, the start of commercial power generation will depend on the necessary regulatory clearance and the completion of the remaining required procedures.
