Gazipur – A severe fire erupted at a garment facility in the Kashimpur area of Gazipur on Saturday morning, prompting a massive emergency response from local authorities.
The incident began around 10:45 AM in the West Shaildubey neighborhood of Gazipur Metropolitan. The flames initially originated inside the chemical storage area of Supreme Garments before quickly spreading to neighboring units.
The fire rapidly engulfed an adjacent scrap fabric warehouse as well as a yarn storehouse leased by Amar Desh Agro Limited under DBL Group, fueled by the highly flammable materials stored within the premises.
Upon receiving emergency calls, five firefighting teams rushed to the scene to initiate containment operations. However, as the intensity of the blaze mounted, four additional units were dispatched to reinforce the effort, bringing the total number of firefighting teams on site to nine.
According to Saidul Alam Chowdhury, Deputy Assistant Director of Gazipur Fire Service, emergency personnel are actively working to bring the situation under control.
Officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries have been reported so far. Investigation into the precise cause of the outbreak and the extent of financial damage will begin once the area is fully secured.
