Barrister Andalib Rahman Partha Appointed Information Minister

Barrister Andalib Rahman Partha has been appointed as the Minister of Information and Broadcasting.

The appointment was announced in a gazette notification signed by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani on Friday night.

According to the notification, the prime minister made the allocation and redistribution of ministerial responsibilities under Rule 3(4) of the Rules of Business, 1996. The order took effect immediately.

The notification also stated that all other provisions of previous notifications issued on February 17, March 4, March 12 and March 25 would remain unchanged.

Partha, the newly appointed Information and Broadcasting Minister, is the chairman of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP). He was elected as a member of parliament from the Bhola-1 constituency in the 13th parliamentary election.

He is the son of late former minister and Dhaka City Corporation’s first elected mayor, Alhaj Najiur Rahman Manju.
