Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest action entertainer, Jailer 2, is creating a box-office sensation, crossing the ₹500 crore mark worldwide within just six days of its release, according to trade reports.
Released on October 15, the sequel has attracted audiences across India and overseas markets, driven by Rajinikanth’s enduring popularity and strong opening-weekend performance.
The film reportedly earned around ₹418 crore worldwide during its first four days in theatres. Its momentum continued into the following days, with strong advance bookings and holiday-season audiences helping push its total beyond the ₹500 crore milestone.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 features Rajinikanth alongside several prominent actors, including Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Yogi Babu. The film combines action, comedy and crime elements, building on the success of its predecessor.
The original Jailer, released in 2023, was a major commercial success, earning more than ₹600 crore worldwide. The sequel’s rapid box-office growth has raised expectations about whether it can surpass the first film’s lifetime collection.
