Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka presented an unusual scene on Tuesday, October 13, as a series of flight cancellations significantly reduced passenger traffic at the departure terminal.
The cancellations followed an attack on Riyadh Airport in Saudi Arabia, disrupting flights and leaving areas that are usually crowded with travellers and their relatives noticeably quiet.
According to a report by Jugantor, the departure area appeared unusually deserted, with far fewer passengers moving through the terminal than on a typical day.
Traveller Habibur Rahman, who was heading to Sri Lanka, said he had previously travelled to India, Malaysia and Nepal but had never witnessed an airport scene like this.
The situation highlights how disruptions to international flights can affect not only passengers but also the people and businesses that depend on regular airport activity.
