Prime Minister Hands Over National Flags to Seven Bangladesh Army Units
Prime Minister Tareq Rahman presented national flags to seven units of the Bangladesh Army’s 9th Infantry Division during a ceremony at Savar Cantonment on Sunday morning.
The Prime Minister arrived at the cantonment at around 9:15 am, where he was welcomed by Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman. An army contingent subsequently accorded him a guard of honour.
After exchanging greetings with military personnel, the Prime Minister formally handed over the national flags to representatives of the seven units.
Security was tightened along the Dhaka–Aricha Highway and at key locations in the surrounding areas ahead of the visit. Local residents gathered along the roadside to welcome the Prime Minister as he arrived at the cantonment.
